photographers, calmness and serenity seekers, star gazers etc..)

Stop over en-route for lunch

Walk through the Historical Trail from British Era amidst Pine and Oak Trees occasionally with Plum Trees and other Berries 

Visit Kakrighat, Dhokaney Waterfalls & Kalpishwar Temple
(Kakrighat is the place where it is believed Swami Vivekananda first saw the eternal truth while meditating. Kalpeshwar
Mahadev Temple is also having its own mythological and mystical tales)

Visit to Katarmal Sun Temple , Jageshwar Dham & Sunset from Vriddha Jageshwar
(Katarmal is known for a relatively rare Surya temple, constructed by the Katyuri Kings in the 9th century CE, Jageshwar 
Dham, also known as one of the Jyotirlinga, is one of the biggest group of temples located in a single complex in the world. 
It has more than 125 big and small temples within its complex.)

Get the bags packed and check out from Peora. We will go round and visit a few places.

Visit Aarohi
(Aarohi is a local NGO that work in women empowerment in the nearby villages. Local women from nearby villages make 
jam, jelly, pickles, etc. Aarohi also run a school and a hospital. )

Drive ti Mukteshwar via IVRI jungle and en route visit Mukteshwar Mahadev temple, Chauli ki Jaali . Stop over for lunch and head 
towards Kaladhungi, near Corbett.
(This village was established by Jim Corbett himself. He settled around 40 families that time and when he moved to South 
Africa he distributed the land to the families and at present descendants of them are residing and engaged in various 
activities like farming, jungle guides, jungle restoration and preservation activities.)

We will go for Iron foundry trek (An awesome hike for nature lovers which has birds, nature and history and information 
about Asia’s first Iron foundry

Visit Corbett Museum
(Sir Jim Corbett used to stay in this place with his sister Mary till he left for South Africa. This place is a must visit for 
Corbett Lovers.)

Heritage village walk and engaging in some village activities followed by Freshly prepared Hot and delicious local 
Lunch

Check Out and Drive Back to Delhi with great memories
(Don’t forget to visit Corbett Waterfalls while Driving Back, time permitting)

Nearby Attractions

1] Kasar Devi temple: Kasar Devi temple is a famous Hindu temple which is high up on a hillock from where we get a view of Almora city. The temple is surrounded by lofty pine and deodar trees. Each year, during Nov-Dec, the temple hosts an annual fair called Kasar Devi fair on Kartik Poornima.

2] Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary: It is located in Binsar where there are 200 species of birds, barking deer, Himalayan bear, leopard, fox, musk deer, langur, porcupine, flying squirrel, chital, jungle cat,etc. There is a museum which gives complete information about flora and fauna of the sanctuary.

3] Zero-point trek: Binsar Zero-point is the highest point of the Binsar wildlife Sanctuary, from where we can enjoy a 360° view of the Himalayan ranges namely Kedarnath, Shivling, Trishul and the group of Nanda Devi peaks.

4] Dandeshwar temple: The temple is situated slightly upwards from the Jageshwar temple complex. This place is 200 metres from Artola village from where temples of Jageshwar start.

5] Jageshwar Archaeological Museum: The museum houses 174 sculptures from temples of Jageshwar group, Dandeshwar group and Kuber group of temples. The famous sculptures are ‘Dancing Ganesha’ and the highly detailed version of ‘Uma/ Maheshwar sitting on Nandi’ with some intense snake action.

6] Jageshwar temple:It is called the abode of twelve Jyotirlings. Jageshwar is an important tourist destination of Kumaon and receives thousands of visitors every year. It is situated amidst dense deodar forest with a stream flowing at its backyard. The place also acts as a meditation center due to the calm, fresh and beautiful environment surrounding the temple. Being situated amidst the dense deodar trees, Jageshwar is an ideal place to camp and enjoy the beauty of nature.

7] Chitai temple: The famous temple of Chitai Almora is the Golu Devta Chitai temple, dedicated to Golu or Goljyu Devta an Avtar (incarnation) of Lord Shiva in the form of Gaur Bhairav. The temple is situated at 9kms from Almora. It takes 2hours to explore the place. Golu Devta is famously regarded as God of Justice. Devotees worship Golu Devta with means of white cloth, pagri, and white shawl. People believe that God asks for in propitiation is a bell, as is evident from the thousands of bells strung across the temple premises. Anyone can even seek Golu Devtas divine intervention by writing to him. Stacks of letter are pinned all over the temple along with bells. It is located on Jageshwar Dham road.
